Television: Big Brother's Caoimhe makes me queezy

Tags: Big Brother UK Big Brother 11 Caoimhe Guilfoyle Feisty Fag Hag Student Big Brother Profile Reality Show Welsh Christian Minister Dave Sexual Orientation Shabby Andie McDowell Quote

Is it just me or is this year's Irish Big Brother contestant constantly letting the side down?!

rightCaoimhe Guilfoyle entered the house as a feisty fag hag student who lives at home with her parents (according to her Big Brother profile) who would rather 'be out on the lash' all the time given the chance. It also says she believes no person has the right to be a snob, to look down on others because of their job, status or work; she thinks everyone is equal. Way to go girl..

Then she contradicts herself by saying she believes it is human nature to be selfish and bitchy and admits to being a bit of a diva herself 'but only in a tasteful, sophisticated and elegant way'. Confused? You see apparently it's only okay to be a snobby bitchy selfish cow if you are articulating yourself with elegance!!

In terms of her sexual orientation, she openly admits to fancying girls (though she has a boyfriend in Dublin) and said she only has to strut her stuff for men to turn and look at her.

leftWell so far in Big Brother 11, no man has turned to look at her, just Shabby her best (girl)friend who in fairness completely fell for her, so much so, that she couldn't take the emotional lesbian implosion of it all and left the programme. (Cut to cringeworthy scene from Four Weddings and a Funeral when Andie McDowell whimpers to Hugh Grant "Is it Raining? I hadn't noticed.") If Caoimhe is that oblivious, I will eat Shabby's hat, never mind my own.

Dismissive Caoimhe also explained on entering the house that the relationship with the bloke at home is going nowhere. Cue five weeks later, after impassioned Shabby leaves the reality show, she sprints to the diary room to declare undying love and proposals of marriage for the poor muppet watching the show at home like the rest of us!! Get off the stage love!

rightIf it was all even mildly entertaining Caoimhe, I would've been just as dismissive and wouldn't have bothered writing this article but because all you do is bitch and moan on our TV screens - I feel impounded in my own home by your negativity and this is my only ventilation!!

Your 24-hour rant on Thursday was pure suffocation for us and mortification for you. Housemates and viewers were treated to you verbally attacking Nathan, calling him a bully, bitching about Corin, and going around trouble-making by telling other housemates to be wary of Ife because “she’s a snake.”

Dave is right about you constantly attacking him on the religious thing too. You have major issues with God and the Catholic church - and though I can understand the anger from an Irish perspective (it's inbred, you can't help yourself), you have to realise your impending aggression does seem slightly arresting to others.

leftBut before you go attacking other people's religious beliefs based on the so obvious very little religious knowledge you employ on the subject, (N.B. Religion does not just envelop Catholicism!) at least get your facts right before entering a debate with a Born Again Christian!!

Welsh Christian Minister Dave explained his pain to Nathan - "Caoimhe has got to be one of the most strongly opinionated people in here…I don’t want to hear it. I don’t want to get into a heated debate about stuff. What’s the point?"

He continued "She keeps wanting to have a pop at stuff, talking about eradicating religion from school…I’ve explained [my opinions] to her twice today. I just want to have a good time in here, not have a dark cloud of doom descend upon me".

In your very own words Caoimhe, "I'm Soooo embarrassed!". You should be.

Well said girl :) She's making a holy show of us (as most irish contestants do on this show)
