Beauty: Glow Magazine's 'Feel Good Days' shine!
On Saturday last, my friend Maria and I woke up bright eyed and bushy-tailed and charged off to The Burlington Hotel for a Glow Magazine/EBS Feel Good Day. And we are so glad we did.
One of the recent promotional days for Ireland's number one women's health and beauty magazine went off with a bang with women from all over Dublin arriving there to relax, have fun and unwind. The GLOW road-show had previously been all over Ireland - and met over 8000 women in Cork, Galway, Limerick, Naas and
Athlone.
The Glow Feel Good Day oozed positivity and fun. It gave women the opportunity to meet with professionals
from the world of beauty, health and fashion and get expert treatment
and advice. Many stands with various products were available for trial and test and many exhibitors provided free mini-facials, manicures and hair-styling!
Maria and I got free massages and a 20 minute session of Reiki Healing where we were both left a tingling! So relaxing and well needed. We also got free skin analysis done by The Buff Day Spa (South King St, Dublin) who recommended Dermalogica skincare products and emphasised how important it is to hydrate your skin during summertime (some of us forget okay!).
La Senza were exhibiting their fabulous new season swimwear and underwear range while also offering free bra fittings. Toni and Guy hairdressing were also there to offer advice on hair styling - doing consultations, blow-dries, GHD curls, fringe trims and up-styles. Unfortunately I never got to chat to them but I do have my 20% off privilege cards to look forward to!
Debenhams were offering their free personal shopping service (never considered it in my life but I might do now!) and there was many a competition to enter for makeovers. Please let me win, please let me win, please let me win, please let me win!!
To our surprise we even met Breffny
Morgan fresh out of TV3's Celebrity
Salon (and formerly The
Apprentice) who was telling us about his article on men's take on
feminine beauty in the latest edition of Glow Magazine (July/August - see above).
I had a quick read through and it is
quite amusing how he explains that false eye-lashes and over-applied
foundation can have a negative psychological impact on men! "The more
false the feature, the more deceitful the image" is apparently their
first impression. Excuse the blurry picture Breffny - though probably a
blessing on all counts since I was pre-makeover!!
I have to mention one of our favourite products of the day. If you are interested in buying Irish beauty products and I mean really good Irish beauty products, check out Óg Ireland, the ultimate peat skincare range. They use natural peat in all their products, for example, '100% Peat Face and Body Mask', but Óg Ireland do moisturisers, scrubs and exfoliants for hand, feet, face and body too. The exfoliant and moisturisers work very well, We were so impressed we want the whole range now because it's all natural and from the west of Ireland. You can order from their website www.ogireland.com !!
Hair-waxing, teeth-whitening, spray-tanning - you name it, it was all
there for the testing. Thanks Glow for giving us a free fun day out - really picks us women up during times like these! Thanks a million !!
